About Kuvempu Centenary Hall (Hemangana)
The Kuvempu Centenary Hall, or Hemangana, was constructed to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of Kuvempu. The hall represents a fusion of modern architecture with a touch of traditional Kannada aesthetics. It serves as a venue for various literary events, cultural programs, seminars, and exhibitions celebrating Kannada literature and arts.
The name Hemangana is derived from “Hemavathi”, Kuvempu’s wife, and signifies the deep emotional connection the poet had with his family and roots in Kuppalli.
